Just a little less than two weeks before we begin our 31 days of Praying Proverbs 31. I’m so excited, and I can’t wait to see how the Lord is going to use this season of prayer in our lives. Next week, I will be posting a list of groups who are participating in our time of prayer. If you would like to have your blog or group location listed, please contact me before Wednesday, Dec. 28. I will continue to update the list as I have opportunity.
Who am I praying for?
Though Praying Proverbs 31 is designed for daughters, it can be used as a prayer guide for any young woman: daughter, granddaughter, niece, or any young woman for whom you are burdened to pray. You could even put your own name in many of the prayers!
What will I be praying?
There are 63 prayers within Praying Proverbs 31, we will be praying 2 a day through the month of January and 3 on January 31. The prayers are focused on a particular theme presented in a group of verses from Proverbs 31. For instance, in the first set of prayers, the theme is about valuing virtue, and each prayer presents an aspect of that challenge to pray for.
Pages 82-84 of the ebook provide a summary list of prayers for easy reference. You are welcome to use these pages as you pray with us, or to follow the prayers and study questions as they are presented throughout the ebook.
How much time will this take each day?
My intention is not to take a great amount of “sit-down” time, but rather to provide a thought for you to meditate on and pray throughout your day. We are praying 2 prayers a day. Pray one in the morning and one at night, or one during your morning devotions and one on lunch break: do what fits best with your daily routine. And then continue praying that prayer as you go about your daily activities.
As the Lord brings your daughter to your mind, pray for her!
Want to lead a group?
Lead your group in prayer on your blog, Facebook group page, or other location. Here are a few resources and ideas you may use for your group.
The purpose of the groups is to provide camaraderie and fellowship as we unite in prayer. So, please feel free to lead your group in the way you think is best.
May the Lord bless your quiet times with Him, and may He reveal Himself to you in the New Year in a unique and powerful way!
You are invited!
On Jan. 1 of 2012, we’ll start the year off
with 31 days of praying Proverbs 31 for our girls.
How Do I Get Involved?
One of my desires for Praying Proverbs 31 is to provide online communities for women to pray together and encourage one another in the parenting journey. Your group can decide on a start date and go through the study together or let each person go at their own pace.
Share your specific prayer for the day, talk over the devotional thoughts, discuss the study questions, and just share your heart with other women in the same journey.
Facebook is a great place for these groups. Contact me and I’ll set up a specific group for you. Here are a few ideas, or you can give me more information on your idea.
