Sharing the Journey

This month’s theme is sharing the journey, and I’m so excited for this month’s posts. A couple of ladies will be sharing their insights and journey as they have prayed Proverbs 31 for their daughters. I encourage you to stop in each Wednesday to read their thoughts.

Dorie and her drummer husband, Jerry, share a life built on faith, love, and grace. They homeschool their four children, and Dorie blogs about it at Homeschooling Just Next Door. In addition, she shares parts of her own journey of faith at These Grace Filled Days.

Kristi has been married to her Prince Charming since 2000. They are blessed with six children, including three daughters, ages 10, 2, and 2. The have recently moved to Nashville, TN, and are enjoying getting settled into urban life again. Kristi blogs about homeschooling, life, and faith at The Potter’s Hand Academy.

As these ladies share their wisdom, I’d love for you to share your journey as well. Through the month of March, I’ll be offering a special buy-one-get-one code. Purchase the pdf of Praying Proverbs 31 and receive a free link to share with a friend! Just use the code Share. (You must enter 2 in the quantity box for the discount code to work.)  Then pray together and share the journey as the Lord works His grace in the lives of your daughters.

And I ask that you be praying for me, as I’ll be welcoming our third child in a matter of days. Blessings on your journey!

The “Hard Copy” Edition

Since releasing the ebook Praying Proverbs 31: prayers for a daughter’s virtue, I’ve had a number of you ask me about a hard copy edition. Currently Praying Proverbs 31 is only available as a PDF, as well as on Kindle and Nook.
For those of you who would like a copy to hold in your hands, here is my solution. Hope it helps!

Nook is now available!

At long last, the Nook edition of Praying Proverbs 31 is now available. And it will be priced at $.99 through the weekend, to get in on some of the “launch party” fun.

And if you want to absolutely make my day, post a customer review on either the Barnes and Noble site or on Amazon. Enjoy!

The Vision

It all began last spring when I participated in 21 Days of Prayers for Sons, praying Scripture from Brooke McGlothlin’s book Warrior Prayers. It was a terrific study and a great prayer journey. But as I prayed the Scripture for my son, I’d often pray for my daughter as well. When I finished the 21 day challenge, I was left with the desire to do  something similar for my daughter.

Apparently, I hadn’t been the only one to wish for that because Brooke, who has two sons, announced to her many inquiring readers that she had no intention of writing an ebook for daughters. That’s when the Lord started bringing a few ideas to mind, and my burden became a vision.

Soon after contacting a designer and getting the project started, I found out that I was expecting our third child. Though there were definitely moments when I thought I’d never finish, I had my motivation ever before me—my lively little girl.

Slowly but surely, the prayers and thoughts of Praying Proverbs 31 came together. And what an incredible journey it was for me, not only seeing God’s grace through the obstacles of the project but seeing His purpose and plan for my little girl (in the midst of her daily tantrums and emotional outbursts).

Now, in His grace, the work is complete. My hope is that it will fill your life and prayers with the same power and purpose that I sensed as I wrote it. Welcome to the journey! And may the Lord bless your quiet moments with Him.
